John Kenneth Womack

John Kenneth Womack, lovingly known by many as Ken, Kenny, Dad, Bubba, and Paw Paw, was born on November 24, 1940, in Phenix City, Alabama, and passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on December 31, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, with his daughter Stacie, his son Scott, his daughter-in-law Lila, and his dear friend Kim lovingly by his side. He leaves behind a profound legacy of faith, kindness, and unwavering love for his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, John Womack, Mary Ward, and James Ward; his sister, Dianne Sharpless; his beloved son, George Robert “Bobby” Womack; his grandson, Robert Womack; and his nephews, Clay Brannon and Frank Lloyd. He is survived by his children, Stacie Leverette (Chad) and Scott Womack (Lila); his sisters, Sandra Harp and Maleia Lloyd (Frank); and his half-siblings Tommy Womack, Susan England, John (Kim) Womack, and James (Tim) Womack. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Cristan, Tina, Sidney, Samuel, Sadie, Deane, Jessica, Kayla, Isaiah, and Bryan, all of whom were a tremendous source of joy and pride to him. Ken is further survived by five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, as well as a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones. He is also survived by his loving partner of more than 20 years, Joyce Green, who stood faithfully by his side and shared a deep and devoted love with him. Ken was blessed with many dear friends whom he proudly claimed as brothers, sisters, and even additional children. He loved each of you deeply and was grateful beyond words for the relationships God placed in his life. Though life carried him many places, Ken always considered Cullman, Alabama, his home. He lived a full and meaningful life, marked by generosity, encouragement, and a sincere love for people. Ken never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. An entrepreneur at heart, Ken built and operated several successful businesses over the years, including A-1 Limousine Service, the largest limousine service in Atlanta in the 1980s, a tire company, car lot, antique shops, and more. He was blessed with the ability to accomplish nearly anything he set his mind to. Ken’s passion for music continued throughout his life. He was gifted with a beautiful singing voice and star qualities. He performed with bands and sang in churches, joyfully sharing both his musical talents and his faith with others. Above all else, Ken loved his family, his friends, and the Lord. His faith guided his life and shaped the way he treated every person he encountered. “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” — John 13:35 A Final Message from Ken Ken wanted to thank everyone for the moments you shared with him and for being such a blessing in his life. He wanted you to know that he loves you—and most importantly, that Jesus loves you. Services will be held on January 9, 2026, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 12:00–1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. A short graveside service will immediately follow at Missionary Grove Cemetery, 1365 County Road 1141, Cullman, Alabama.
