Evelyn Galin Linton

Evelyn B. Galin Linton beloved wife of Clarence L. Linton departed this life peacefully on Wednesday March 20, 2013 after a short illness. She enjoyed 88 wonderful years of living. She was born on July 14, 1924 in Wedowee, Alabama. She resided in Cullman most of her life. She was a member of Crosses Chapel United Methodist Church. She was employed for many years at King Edward Cigar Plant and several retail sales locations. Her hobbies were the loving care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, quilting and sewing. Evelyn was preceded in rest by her parents Bessie French McManus and Chester McManus; her first husband and father of her children Herman W. Galin and a son Frederick C. Galin. Her loving family consists of her husband Clarence L. Linton; son Jerry D. Galin (friend Brenda) of Hanceville AL and daughter Diann Galin Richter (Jack) of Poquoson VA; daughter-in-law Jeanice Galin, grandchildren F. Shawn Galin of Vestavia Hills AL, Jennifer L. Meekins (Mike) of Manteo NC and Tammi E. Bramblett (Kyle) of Cumming GA; step grandchildren Michael Nelson (Lisa) of Cullman AL, Travis Nelson (deceased), Edward Richter of Cullman AL and Marina Hodge (Edwin) of Daphne AL; great grandchildren Mackenzie Ulmer-Meekins, Walker and Fysher Bramblett; step great grandchildren Sarah, Hannah and Becca Meekins; Bailee and Abby Nelson; Robert and Natalie Hodge; and Kelley Richter. Her loving family also consists of her brother Thurman McManus (Dura Faye) of Interlachen FL and sister Patricia Umphrey (Ulen deceased) of Cullman AL; Nephews Hugh Fredrick Johnson (deceased), Lonnie Johnson (deceased), Doyle Galin, Ronnie McManus (Denise), Dwight McManus (deceased); Calvin Umphrey (deceased) and James Umphrey (Conniejo); Nieces Amanda Williamson (Alton), Barbara James (Charles), Cynthia McManus (deceased), Rebecca Merry (deceased), Jolanda Hutson (Darryl); grandnephews Michael Merry (Marybell), Gavin and Colby Hutson; grandniece Andy McManus, Cindy Day (Randy), and step grandnieces Ciara Bringardner (J.T.) and Sable McFatter. The family will receive friends at Heritage Funeral Home beginning at 6:00 PM on Saturday March 23. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM Sunday March 24 at Heritage Funeral Home (255 County Road 1435, Cullman, Alabama, 256-734-0208) with interment immediately following at Crosses Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
