Funeral Service for George "Leonard" Romine, age 72 of Cullman, will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Randolph and Bro. Joe Shane officiating; Micah Rice leading singing; Pallbearers; Isaiah Moore, Brent McClellan, Jack McClellan, Jeff Slatton, Brad Slatton, Charles Chandler, Terry Graham, Julian Swann. burial at Cullman City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home. Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Romine passed away lovingly surrounded by his wife and daughters on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at UAB hospital. He was born, May 31, 1953 to George Cecil Romine and Tula Lucille Romine. Leonard was many things. Loving son, brother, husband, “Dad”, and “Pops”. He was a faithful Christian, dedicated and loyal employee, and selfless friend to all. He lived a full and meaningful life. His time here was not long enough for those who love him, but his legacy and his love will last forever. Leonard was a faithful member at 4th Street church of Christ for many years. He loved the Lord with all his heart and led his family to do the same. He began his career at Cullman Electric Coop at the age of nineteen, working there forty-seven years. He retired a few years ago to enjoy some time with his family and his loving wife of forty-five years, Linda. He and Linda had two beautiful girls, Sherry and Elizabeth, who gave him eight beautiful grandchildren, who loved their “Pops” so much. Leonard enjoyed vacationing in the mountains, was an avid Auburn Football fan, and was an extremely talented woodworker. He served as President and Treasurer of the Cullman Woodworkers Guild for over fifteen years. He enjoyed building bedroom furniture for both his daughters and loved to build porch swings to give to people he cared about. He even built a unique cradle for his first nephew. One of his last larger wood projects was building a beautiful crib for his youngest daughter's children. Everything he made with his hands will be cherished by his family all the days to come. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and Mother in law Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Linda McClellan Romine; daughters, Sherry Romine (Wesley) Moore and Mary "Elizabeth" (Ryan) Shores; grandchildren, Isaiah, Isabella, Georgia and J.J. Moore, Kennedy, Michael, David and Abigail Shores; sisters, Charlotte (Barry) Slatton and Nita (Greg) Burgess; nephews, Jeff (Karen) Slatton, Brad (Christy) Slatton, Jack (Emily) McClellan, Ethan McClellan, brother-in-law, Brent (Nancy) McClellan; Father- in- law, Newman McClellan, Special sister- in-law, Sharon McClellan and a host of extended family and friends.
