Emma Jeanette Quattlebaum

Emma Jeanette Quattlebaum, age 94 died on Saturday, February 17th 2018. Jeanette was born the oldest girl of nine siblings and she shared many stories of helping to raise her brothers and sisters in rural Cullman County. At 15 years old she met and later married a kind and handsome man before he left for WWII. Orville and Jeanette were married for 72 years until his death on October 13, 2012. Jeanette's last wish was to join her beloved husband in heaven. Jeanette had various jobs and interests but nothing really compared to her love for her family. She loved her two sons Gary and Kinney Quattlebaum deeply. She helped nurture, raise and love her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She helped make plenty of pallets on the floor, tents in the living room, and homemade water slides in the back yard. Her love for her siblings ran deep and so did her love for her many nieces and nephews. She showed her love in the kitchen while preparing each family members favorite dishes. And you knew she loved you if she worried about you. "Are you hungry?” “Are you cold?” “Let me get you some more covers." What a beautiful long life Jeanette lived and what a loving legacy she leaves behind. She was loved and will be missed by so many. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Orville; sister, Dean Powe Johnson, and three brothers; Ruby, Walter, and Teddy Powe. She is survived by her two sons, Gary (Reba) Quattlebaum and Kinney (Pam) Quattlebaum; three grandchildren, Stacy (Jeff) Emanuel, Jeremy (Jennifer) Quattlebaum and Kelly Quattlebaum; three step-grandchildren, Cheri (Darrin) Jones, Clark Zinsmeister and Jason (Jennifer) Zinsmeister; nine great grandchildren, Jackson, Max, Gaven, Colby (Allison), Gabriel, Kinsley, Sam, Ethan and Lincoln; five step grandchildren, Chynna, Noah, Chloe, Garret and Ava, five siblings; Jackie (Ulen) Quattlebaum, Martha aka Bobo Pellegra, Clarence (Martha) Powe, Lala Powe and Gaynell Marty. Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM of Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home, with burial at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
